Ugly Clinic – Pink Speed and Tequila

Back to the basics. Time for some good old punk rock. Ready? Let’s go.

The newest release of the 5 piece punk rock band from Scotland is loaded with one main ingredient, and it’s called ‘honesty’. This track is not another paid gig, not a commercial jingle or any music played off a note sheet. This, my friends, is good old rock straight from the heart and soul of the guys of Ugly Clinic.

I admit it, this track isn’t the best mixed piece I heard recently. It’s not well-polished nor is the concept very innovative or signature styled to make it special. But you know what? It’s kickass. It’s honest. It’s driving, fun and passionate. It makes you move, (or in my case) it makes you play it way too loud with windows down while driving through the deserted streets during these strange times. ‘Pink Speed and Tequila’ is an alternative anthem that has an almost retro-ish flair attached to the driving guitars, the sassy vocals and the catchy lyrics. This tune shows exactly why kickin’ tracks don’t need tons of effects or an ultra-clean mix. They need musicians with heart and soul.
