Sarpa Salpa – Say Something

Spanning the gap between retro and future disco, this tune will make you move.

The new release of Northhampton based alt pop band mainly feels energetic. There is a certain kind of not containable groove woven into the single tracks, making ‘Say Something’ something that you have to move to instantly.

The synth bass backing along the driving disco-ish beat have kind of a retro charme while the guitars get some… ‘futuristic glitter’ in there. The vocals are passionate, riding on this disco-ish wave of music – yet they are still down-to-earth enough to feel lightweight and a bit sassy. Overall, the track feels like the logical evolution of vintage retro disco. The roots are still feelable in the music, but there’s also a present tense signature element to find in there. Plus the tune is really (as in REALLY) catchy, so the ‘say something’ line will stick to your head in no time. Well, there you have it, folks: the markers of an awesome song. Signature style, catchy elements, and a ton of groove.
