Drumtap, SHELLS – Someone Like You

The new release of Drumtap feels fragile, energetic, icy, driving, crystalline, lightweight, floaty, emotional – in other words: it feels awesome. THIS, guys, is how to add some excitement to electro in style.

With a mighty lightweight and energetic groove, the stage is set for those glassy vocals of London based singer SHELLS. The vocals are the human element needed as a guide for this electronic wonderland. For me, it feels like those vocals are really at home in this techy but somewhat warm environment created by reverbed synths, percussive one-shots, effect tracks and that irresistible rhythm that will make you start grooving wherever you are.

London based producer Drumtap managed to create a really great atmosphere in ‘Someone Like You’. The whole thing feels exciting, a place of light and sound that makes you curious. In this surrounding you want to explore every nuance of the sound, and if you listen closely, there are really a ton of hidden gems build in, placed there right for you to find. The intelligent usage of one-shots and effects make it hard to differentiate single elements, but after all we’re here for the feel, not the scientific analysis, right.
