Jacqueline Loor – Coming Undone

Once again, Jacqueline Loor knows how to put that spell on you with her voice.

The atmosphere created by the reverbed piano and the percussive tracks feels icy and widespread. The later added backing elements get the track some more substance and warmth while the vocals feel like they are able to slow down time. And this, guys, is my favourite part of the releases of the american multitalent, I like to call it the ‘Loor effect’. When the lights seem to be dimmed all of a sudden, when everything is happening in slow motion while you hang on to her voice with undivided attention. There are artists out there that are able to have the listener laser focused on every nuance of their voice, and in my opinion Loor is one of these rare talents.

While the backing slowly puts on some tension, the track steps out of the shadows, evolving into a uplifting tune, breaking out of its cocoon like a butterfly. And it does so with keeping the main theme intact. ‘Coming Undone’ not only is an awesome tune to listen to, it tells its story like a painting on a canvas, with the canvas being your imagination.
