Charlotte OC – This Pain

In a dark, melancholic atmosphere backed by a dark electro synth, the vocals of Charlotte OC hit you with unfiltered emotion.

Due to the backing music being defensive and almost minimal, the song releases all of its mood intensity. I love the atmosphere that is build by these vocals, it feels both heavy-hearted yet expressive with that special ‘you-don’t-know-what-you-are missing’ vibe attached. There is that somewhat metallic percussion happening in the back which feels both handmade and borderline cold, unforgiving electro. I define this as a perfect attempt to capture this moodset when you are being overrun by a ton of emotion yet if it were up to youm you would chose to not feel anything for the moment. For me, this contrast is also reflected with the vocals ranging somewhere in between hurt, fragile, desperate and uplifting. When it comes to interpreting the atmosphere in ‘This Pain’, the track is a real mulitalent. Depending on your own moodset, the track will be exactly what you were looking for.
