Spaghetti Eastern Music – Her Lemon Peel Raincoat

The atmosphere this track builds is amazing. Don’t take my word for it, push that play button and get ready to float in a sea of sound.

With a wide reverbed synth setting, the music feels like the water surface of a small lake in the early morning. Calm, gentle, and almost not moving, the sound slowly is awakening, adding that guitar which is coming to life along the crystalline sparkling synths.

“Her Lemon Peel Raincoat” is rather painting a picture in my head than just making my eardrums vibrate. If you’re able to close your eyes, if you are willing to feel the sound of all the single elements merge into an almost cineastic setting, you reached that place the guitarist, keyboardist and vocalist Sal Cataldi has built for us listeners. Like a good glass of wine, this track has to be enjoyed slowly, and with attention to detail. There is so much happening in the track. Layer over layer blending into another, vocal one-shots and glassy arp melodies, atmospheric sound effects, distorted guitar screaming from afar – all of these elements designed to keep tension in the sound, to keep the sound moving, to build rises and to calm down. This is a carefully constructed instrumental concept that contains enough of this mystical glow to keep the listener enchanted for more than just those seven minutes of running time.
