Arandel – Hysope

Starting with a classic organ and a backing choir, this new release of Arandel is a genre-fluid journey through time and space.

For this track I need you to close your eyes. The music abducts you to an atmospheric journey that feels like floating through a galaxy full of wonders. With a bubbly soft synth and the mentioned organ/choir combination, the track builds a special almost classical scenario in which the listener feels free and lightweight. As the track progresses, the sound slowly evolves into a fuller and richrer scenario without leaving the main theme. I like how the track takes its time doing so, there’s a feelable slow energy rise that’s probably more intensified through the mix.

The combination of human and electro elements is probably what attracts me most in “Hysope”. The track feels too human to be just electro, and too electro to be handmade. This lets the sound glow in a mysterious, oddworld-ish character that is really hard to classify. But in the end not all songs have to get an official genre label on it, right. After all, tracks like this one are best enjoyed with the mind, not just the ears.
