In this case, Jamal lets your mind sink into a guitar piece that he wrote for a child to whom he became godfather recently. Well, call me crazy, but you can just hear that this track means a lot to the artist. It’s not just the skilled way in which he plays, for me it’s like you can hear all the emotions transmitted in between the notes he plays.

The base setting of “Abigail” is awesome. It’s a carefully and sensitive recorded guitar in a roomy reverbed atmosphere. This lets the instrument with all tones shine like a diamond, bringing light not only to your ears but to your mind as well. If you listen carefully, you can explore all the tension and energy in there, as well as the soft bridges and relaxing moments, as if Jamal would grant you a look through his eyes while he watches the kid playing outside on a sunny day. With tracks like this, music manages to raise the bar every time. There’s literally nothing that cannot be expressed with music.
