NOBOOT – into the trees

Time to enter the in-between electro world.

Something in between chiptune, electro and odd-world extraterrestrial tune. Hard to describe, you have to listen for yourself.

This track takes you to a place I think you never have been before. With a defensive beat and very good placed synth tracks, this feels warm and safe, but at the same time strangely electronical and stainless-steel-cold. Japanese Producer NOBOOT gets this track to be convenient yet distractive. Handmade yet computerized. One example, those tempo changes within the track are really interesting and create that “what the…?” moment, and at the same time they are driving me crazy. There it is, that signature move every artist needs. NOBOOT steps up and just makes this – and all of his other tracks – his personal experimental laboratory. And I think we might all be his lab rats.

With those vocal chops this track follows a path of being outta place, yet the steady beat plus the warm synth hold together all those chopped up pieces, forming them to a great and intelligent produced piece of work. Surely this is not your mainstream media chart wonder, but that wasn’t intended at all. It’s about an evolving idea and a song structure that is rock solid and glassy fragile at the same time. I’m really into this kind of work where results might never happen, but if they do, you can be sure that this will lead to something really good.

I urge you to check out this and his other works. NOBOOT isn’t your everyday producer, with his method of breaking borders, changing rules, and merging what is supposed to stay divided, he is a master of his craft.
