Michael G Moore – Therapy

You simplay cannot fake this kind of honesty in a song.

A room reverbed piano. The british singer/songwriter Moore doesn’t need more to deliver what’s on his heart, and he does so with a warm, calm and distinctive voice. It doesn’t happen too often that the amount of emotion transmitted through a song knocks you off your feet, but this is a close one. In between those lyrics there is a huge amount of passion and feeling to find. It’s not hidden, on the contrary. I believe that with “Therapy”, Moore gives us a small piece of his heart and soul. The vocals reflect a powerful mix of love, desperation, hope, melancholy, and even positive vibes. It’s this outstanding signature mix that makes the song so appealing for me. It’s not just a melancholic “the world is bad. period.” tune – there’s more to it. As if you just met someone who has been there, Moore is offering answers to the questions you always had. There’s this incredible amount of “its okay”-vibe in the song as well. The song somehow managed to made me self-reflect, asking myself if everything indeed is okay – or if I’m just telling myself so on a daily basis.

For me, the song itself is exactly what the title says. It’s therapy. No matter where you are, if you let the music do what its supposed to, this song can be relaxing, healing, uplifting, and truth-delivering in a very sensitive way. All you need to do is listen and feel.
