the engy – Sick enough to dance

The music of the engy has got it all – its carefree, fun, brave, energetic, you name it. It seems that genre borders are made to be torn down by those guys.

I am really into the special blend of eastern and western elements in this release of the japanese band “the engy”. Those lyrics are a thing of beauty in a disco-ish electro pop track, while I am moving to the addictive beat I’m trying to identify where those blended languages have their melting points (which obviously makes singing along quite hard for me). The track has a huge uplifting element attached to it, the mix of disco synths, those percussive elements, the backing vocals and the bass-based lightweight melody injects a load of goodfeel energy right into your brain.

From a creative standpoint, this is exactly the music needed out there in the industry. Forget about genre borders, forget about the strict patterns of the big labels in the industry trying to get music in phase for numbers. “Sick enough to dance” is a perfect example of how awesome it can be to cross some lines every now and then.
