Kiesza – You’re The Best

The new release of Kiesza makes me happy. If you feel like dancing, this tune is perfect for you.

The song uses a lightweight approach with bellish synths and a warm inviting rhythm to give the canadian multitalent a stage to show her skills as a singer. The vocals are done soft yet energetic at the same time. The song transmits not only an uplifting message, but an uplifting sound as well. It feels like that good old friend picking you up from the ground when you’re down. I really don’t have to say a word about the production, both music and video were done rock solid.

Speaking of, have you seen the video where Kiesza dances like there’s no tomorrow? I love the carefree setting this video happens in, filmed in several peaceful settings, the dancing singer/songwriter shows off what she is capable of. (Reading her bio, she was involved in a car crash a couple of years ago, so her dancing like nothing ever happened cannot be taken for granted. I guess that’s just what type of human being she is, she loves her craft too much to just let go of it.)

Long story short, the tune feels lightweight, carefree and fun, ingredients urgently needed when you’re feeling down. Worked perfectly for me today! With “You’re The Best”, Kiesza even made me…uhm… let’s not call it ‘dance’. Let’s call it … ‘move rhythmically’.
