The Balcony – By the Hand

If you need something to lift you up from the ground, if you’re lacking drive and energy, I strongly suggest you put this baby on. Loud.

With a good, old handmade approach and irresistible rock drive, the newly formed british band The Balcony knows how to inject passionate uplifting energy right into your head with those driving guitars and a classic drumset. The vocals are the lighthouse of the sound, so to speak. Passionate would be said too less, because it’s not just the energetic fashion the lyrics are fired away in, it’s also the vibe that’s transmitted along. (This vibe just kept me grooving along in my office chair, luckily no one was there to see my… uhm… chair dance.) So forget about motivational speeches for now – THIS is how motivation is done the right way!

For me, playing in a band is all about chemistry, and the sound from The Balcony reflects a great chemistry so far. The actual release really makes me want to see those guys live on stage, because only there the mentioned energy can be transmitted in real-time. I think this band is bound to tear any house down with their liveset. “By the Hand” is taken from an EP that will be released in about a week, and if the other tracks are done in a similar fashion, we’ll be in for a treat, guys. Stay tuned.
